BEFORE & AFTER - GUEST BATHROOM
As promised, sharing what the heck we were doing for the last couple of weeks with rolls of reed bamboo and the endless Home Depot runs!
The guest bathroom is finally done! I meant DONE!
That bathroom has been on our minds forever. Seriously, FOREVER! One of the biggest reason we procrastinated was because it remains a dead space until we have friends over.
It is a newer addition to the house and needs only some minor facelift. Like changing out the vanity, sink, flooring and a fresh coat of paint. Styling the space had its challenge because it was small, has lower ceilings and had no natural light. The bathroom could easily feel overcrowded and dingy.
In order to make the bathroom "useable", we put in a new vanity, new vinyl flooring and a couple of fresh coats of white paint. For months, we left the space as is, till I could figure out how I wanted to style it.
It was only on our recent trip to Tulum that I got very inspired and decided how we should tackle the guest bathroom.
The white walls felt too sterile but by using a creamier off white paint and ragging techniques, I managed to create a lived-in and aged feel to the bathroom. To re-create an outdoor-ish ambience, we added bamboo reeds to the ceiling. Lastly, to warmth the place up, changing out the harsh bright vanity light to a rattan light shade with yellowish hint bulb helped create a softer more soothing vibe
Alright! Signing off for now because we are in the mist of another renovation - the guest bedroom. I am so ready for it to be done because I can't wait to share it with you guys!!!
